Pistons an All-Star Team
I’ve slowly started to follow basketball a bit more this year. With the Pistons being so dominant, and with them being in the Finals for the past two years, its starting to even get my attention. Nice to have something to be proud of sports wise considering the Lions are an embarassment.
I just saw that four of Detroit’s five starters all made the All-Star team. That’s pretty sweet. Not only that, but the coach for the East team is Detroit’s coach, Flip Saunders. He said that at some point during the game he will put in all four Detroit players (Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, Rip Hamilton & Chauncey Billups) at the same time. I think I’ll watch the All-Star game just for that.
The only starting Piston not to make it to the All-Star game is Tayshaun Prince. Apparently all five starters on a team have never made it to an All-Star game. Four of the five starters have done it eight times. Damn it would have been sweet if Prince made it too.
Matt discusses the idea of having all five Pistons go up against the West All-Star team. He thinks they would win(though he tells those of us who would think it’d be a cool idea to get a grip). He also thinks they should relabel the Pistons “Team USA” and send them to the 2006 World Championships. Damn straight. Detroit love.
