Road Trip - Day 5 - Back to Sheldon
Monday July 10, 2000
Finally after staying up until 4:30 in the morning I got to bed. I didn’t sleep well however and I have been tired all day. It was hot in the room so the window fan was on high and the outside morning noises (garbage trucks) made noise, and the cat kept trying to come into the room. Larissa has a big ol’ fat ass cat, luckily the room I was in the cat doesnt’ go into but the rest of the house was saturated with cat dander. The whole time there my allergies were acting up horribly. I went thorugh nearly a whole box of kleenex while at Larissa’s. Hew has 3 cats but they don’t bother me nearly as much as Larissa’s.
We woke up and sat around talking for a few more hours, had lunch, drove around a bit, and then got ready to go. Larissa had to be at work at 5 and we wanted to leave around then so it worked out fine. I bought a new box of kleenex and then we made a short trip down to Missouri. hew & my first time in the state. Just went for the hell of it and because it was a mile away.
After MO we hit the road for Sheldon again. I was exhausted from staying up late so I left Matthew drive the first half of the way back. The drive back was very uneventful. Hew drives slow and is still quiet. We took 24 and switched drivers outside of Peoria. We stopped by Eureka College which is where Ronald Reagan went to college.
I’m back in Sheldon now, we got in around 11pm. I talked with his mother for awhile tonight, she is really cool and easy to talk to. Plus she wants to join NYRA. I got Hew’s brother and & mother to like NYRA better than ASFAR.
