Blair Wins Third Term
Tony Blair got a good birthday present today with his election victory for the third time.
Mr Blair - who turns 52 today - said it was clear from the result that “the British people wanted the return of a Labour government with a reduced majority” and the party had to respond.
“I know there are lots of lessons to learn but I do feel very proud of the fact that we have managed that historic third term victory,” he told activists at the Trimdon Labour club. “To be re-elected for a third time is very special so it’s a tremendous privilege and an honour.”
Labour took 36% of the vote, the Tories 33% and the Lib Dems 22%. Despite having only a 3% edge over the Conservatives in the election, it looks like they are still gonna walk away with an 80-seat majority in Parliment. Wow, that’s huge (though smaller than what they had before). At least for our congressional elections, when one party has a slim-margin of victory overall, they seem to be pretty close in the House & Senate too.

Hey, it’s my birthday, too. I share a birthday with Tony Blair. I’ll add him to the list. The rest of the list contains: George Clooney, Willie Mays, Rudolf Valentino, Orson Welles, and Sigmund Freud.
Oh, and suggestion. When putting up links to outside sources, make it open in a new window. Use a target=_blank in your “a” tag.;)
